Yoga and Ayurveda

The fundamental thoughts in Yoga teachings were already summarized in the Yoga Sutras by holy Patanjali, 2600 years ago.

Yoga practice existed already for a very long time before.

From the six philosophical schools of ancient India especially the Samkhya teachings are significant.

They are the basis for the Yoga teachings (rajayoga-”Royal Yoga”) delivered by Patanjali, and also for Ayurveda.

Further Yoga-teachings exist.

In the Bhagavadgita - the singing of God - as a meaningful component of the epos Mahabharata, one of the most important works of Indian culture, God Krsna, teaches Arjuna, the Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of devotion to the divine).

In our culture primarily the Hatha Yoga (“the inuring Yoga”) is well-known and practised by many people.

Almost everyone knows the classical Yoga postures (asanas).

They represent the first stage of the eightfold way (asthanga) of Patanjali.

As an important background of our country wide training, also the Yoga teachings are included.

Our training participants come in touch with the mental world of ancient India, and get thus a deep understanding of the Ayurveda teachings, which is rarely offered.
